Roskill House Guest House

The snug with its whiskey bar was my favourite spot, and the breakfast was just as memorable, with the usual buffet, homemade baking and a different menu each day. We only spent two days at Roskhill House and I wished we could have stayed longer. The place is stylish but still feels like a home, and I was completely comfortable. Our bedroom was lovely too. Martin was a thoughtful host, friendly and full of knowledge, while somehow being around when needed without hovering. You can see the care in all the details, from the food and decor to the service. It was a pleasure meeting Martin and staying there. The best BnB I’ve ever visited.

The whisky selection was a lovely extra, and breakfast was excellent with plenty of good food before heading out. We stayed at Roskhill House as a couple and found it warm and welcoming, just the sort of cosy place we’d hoped to find on Skye. The rooms had plenty of character and were comfortable to come back to after exploring. Martin was helpful and friendly, and made us feel welcome without getting in the way. We’d gladly stay again and recommend it.

We were settled in straight away: the house had a lovely cinnamon smell when we arrived, and our rooms were comfortable. The bathrooms were modern and very clean, and parking at the property was free. Martin is a great host and cook, with delicious homemade breakfasts. The house is on the quieter west side of Isle of Skye, away from busy Portree on the east. We really enjoyed the visit and only wished we had more time. There are just five rooms, and it seems to be mostly booked up in peak season. A rare find and well worth a stay.

The breakfast was delicious, especially Martin’s pastries and snacks. Martin was also really helpful and gave us good advice. The B&B sits between several of the main sights and walking routes, which made it a lovely base for visiting Isle of Skye. It’s a beautiful, cosy place where every detail seems to have been considered.
