Markstone Farm - Adults Only

The quiet and the views were what stayed with us. You can enjoy the surrounding nature and a kind of peace that feels rare these days. We arrived to see a field on a farm and a toilet, but once we’d properly settled in, it was clear we’d booked somewhere very special. Cathy welcomed us so warmly and generously brought scones on arrival. They were the best we’ve ever had. We stayed for the last weekend and will come back, this time for an extra night.

We had a great time at Markstone Farm and will definitely return. Cathy was so welcoming, bringing us scones, cream and jam. I’ve never had that kind of greeting at a campsite before. The campsite is beautiful, with fantastic views, and Kingsbridge was a lovely place to visit.

We stayed in their field in our camper van, with a tent awning, on this working farm. It’s a lovely central base for visiting Devon’s beaches, towns and natural landmarks. The hospitality was excellent, and they really wanted to help us have a lovely holiday.

The field was wonderfully quiet and flat, with rolling countryside all around and not another house in sight. We had it to ourselves, just what we wanted, though I think we were lucky because it was a very off-peak time and they’re usually busier. The cows and sheep were a peaceful sight to wake up to, and we enjoyed a walk in Andrew’s wood, a lovely nature reserve with wild horses. Cathy was a wonderful host. I called at the last minute, and a few hours later she welcomed us with cakes. The toilets were incredibly clean, and there was fresh water and chemical waste disposal. We’d absolutely come back if we’re heading this way again.
