The White Hart Hotel

We had a great sleep in the extremely comfortable beds, and the room was modern, clean and comfortable, with a great shower. The landlord was lovely and really helpful. Breakfast was fantastic, with loads of food and drink. We stayed for 2 nights and will definitely be back.

We just stopped for a quick drink while visiting the area, then left. The staff at the bar were friendly, though they seemed more interested in the sports on TV. There weren't any menus around for drinks, cocktails or food, despite signs outside advertising different drinks, including beers and cocktails. Inside, the tables and chairs were arranged oddly, with no clear area for dining or drinking. The place felt like it needed some care, and the furniture looked randomly placed. Outside, furniture was piled up as if the area had been an afterthought, and it didn't look like the pictures here. The pub and hotel seem to have seen better days. I also noticed the website linked on Google no longer works.

The vegetarian cooked breakfast was magnificent, and I slept well in a comfortable twin room. There was a great modern rain shower, plus tea and coffee in the room.

We stopped at White Heart, Modbury on 1st March 2026 for a Sunday roast and got a fantastic welcome. Our window table was great, and the service was attentive, with staff checking if we were all right or needed anything. The roast was delicious, and extra gravy was a bonus. The chocolate mousse for dessert was excellent, and Jail Ale went down nicely. We'll be back.
