The beds were comfortable, and the house is nicely furnished. We found the kitchen well stocked with cookware, utensils and dishes, plus fresh milk in the fridge for tea and coffee. Its location worked well too, with parking at the house and a pub just a few metres away. A few things need attention. The shower trap was blocked and the shower was flooding, so I had to clear it myself. The shower door is jammed and takes a lot of force to open and close. It needs fixing soon, before someone gets hurt. I also didn't feel secure with the door code, so please consider changing it. A welcome book with house instructions and local pub and restaurant details, including opening hours, would be useful. I'd stay again once the shower door has been repaired, and would consider Gilpin house for another trip to the Lakes.
