I come back every year and absolutely love the place. The views are incredible, and you're close to so many things.

The lodges are comfortable and relaxing, and it's about a 10-minute walk into Keswick, with plenty of walking routes nearby that don't require taking the car. The grounds are well kept, there's plenty of parking, and the location feels quiet and private. Staff were welcoming, helpful and really pleasant. You can get onto the A66 quickly, and there are plenty of pubs and restaurants to choose from. The Theatre by the Lake was superb, and the Hauntings walk was great fun. We're coming back in November for the waterfalls and autumn colours.

It's always felt like a home from home for me. I've loved coming here at least once a year since I was born, and I'm 30 now! The lodges are beautiful, well equipped and set in an idyllic spot. Staff are really friendly, and the field is great for playing. It's a 10-15 minute walk into town and about five minutes to the park.

I've been coming here for years, and it's a wonderful place. The lodges are very comfortable, and access is good even with knees that aren't great, like mine. There's not much in the way of facilities on site, but in such a beautiful location, do you really need them? The lodges at the top of the site have a few steps, though there's a slightly longer alternative route to avoid them.

Some of the views were unreal, and the day turned into something really special. I was in Keswick for a day with my walking club, the Tyneside Ramblers, for a memorial walk for a former leader who had tragically passed away. He was a gentle gentleman, a lovely person and a very good leader. A good man who was definitely looking out for us. The forecast wasn't great, and the morning in Newcastle was damp and a bit foggy, but the farther west we went, the brighter it got. It ended up hot and sunny. The Herdwick sheep were brought in by the Vikings about 1000 years ago. An amazing day.
