Woodside Guest House

Breakfast was delicious, and it’s only a quick five minute walk into town. The owners are the kindest, and the B&B is so sweet. The rooms are gorgeous, clean and comfortable. I’d stay again in a heartbeat!

The morning after our sunrise climb of Blencathra, we got back late for breakfast, but Hannah and BJ were lovely and accommodating. After the climb, we had amazing granola and a really yummy breakfast. I’m definitely going to look for the granola recipe on their instagram account. BJ knows so much about local walks and hills that he even convinced us to start ticking off the Wainwrights. We hadn’t planned a second walk, but his recommendations sent us up Walla Crag after checkout. We got lush views across the lake, and the rain held off. The room was spacious, spotless and had all the facilities we needed. There’s also a lovely side garden I hope to relax in on a summer evening after more walks. We were staying there as a base to climb Blencathra, and the spot beside the railway walkway was perfect for that and for walking into Keswick. We’ll save it in google maps for more Lakes exploring. Thanks to you both for your hospitality, and good luck finishing your Wainwrights once your ankle recovers!

The owners are great hosts, and there’s a car park behind the house. They also have a shed where you can store bicycles. Our room was lovely, with a new ensuite finished to a very high standard, and there’s a varied breakfast menu.

At Woodside B&B, we had warm, spacious and comfortable rooms, safe off-road parking, friendly hosts and a delicious breakfast. It’s about a 20 minute walk into Keswick town. My partner and I had a wonderful stay. I’d definitely book again and recommend the place to friends and family.
