The Hillcrest

We woke up to lovely views of the garden and surrounding countryside from the bedroom window, and breakfast had plenty of choice and was delicious. The bedroom was stunning, with thoughtful little touches to make the stay comfortable. Brenda and David gave us a very warm welcome. We couldn’t find anything to fault and are looking forward to returning. I’d happily recommend this B&B. Thank you, Brenda and David.

Hillcrest felt like great value for money and had a real sense of class. I had a peaceful night in beautiful surroundings. The room looked just like the pictures, which isn’t always the case, and lived up to what I expected. Breakfast was tasty, the hosts were lovely, and I couldn’t fault it.

Breakfast started with so much choice, including all kinds of cereal and yogurt, then tea, coffee and toast made to order, plus a full English that Henry the 8th would be proud of. Through the patio doors, the garden was in full resplendence, with birds feeding at the different feeders. Brenda and David were the perfect hosts. We’d booked three nights, but family circumstances meant we had to rush back to West Sussex after the first. Brenda understood and adjusted the bill quickly. We usually like visiting different places and never returning to the same one, but Hillcrest will be the exception. We feel we missed out on two lovely days with our hosts. We stayed in the pink room, looking over the garden. The sunset on arrival filled it with light and brought out the delicate wall colours. It had a full-size wardrobe, lots of drawer space, a tea tray and a fridge that fitted in perfectly, as well as a wash basin and a separate WC room. The bed was so comfortable we hated getting up. The shower room was just outside and tastefully decorated. The high-quality bedroom curtains blocked out all the light for a perfect night’s sleep. Brenda and David make you feel more like family than paying guests. Their beautiful home is one they’re happy to share, and they go the extra mile to make you feel welcome.

The garden and surrounding views are beautiful, and Brenda and David were fantastic hosts. Brenda even drove us to the village since she was heading that way. They did everything they could for us. The place was spotless, the bed was so comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. What a fabulous find. We’ll stay again and absolutely recommend it.
