Travelodge Kilmarnock

The staff really made this stay for me. All three people I spoke to, especially at reception, were so helpful and accommodating. I was dealing with a stressful time, and they made me feel welcome and did everything they could to help. The rooms are plain and practical, but clean, comfortable and equipped with pretty much what you need. I only missed having a socket by the bed to charge things. There isn't a restaurant, though McDonald's is next door and Greggs and Subway are just across the car park. The price is fantastic value, and I'd happily stay again.

We found parking a bit of a hassle, especially as McDonald's seemed packed when we arrived. Still, it's a good place for a stopover, with a clean family room and two single beds. The man at reception was friendly, helpful and informative while we checked in and waited for a taxi. Excellent service.

The team were generally pleasant and polite, provided you didn't need anything from them. Our electricity kept tripping; it was eventually fixed, but we had no power for most of the morning. The rooms are clean and comfortable and do the job. Since it's at a service station, you'll need a car to get around.

The rooms are a little worn, but very clean for the price, and being dog friendly was a big plus. The staff took care of everything, and the dog beds were a lovely touch. Parking can be difficult because of McDonald's customers.
