Lower House Farm B&B, Herefordshire

Sandra was welcoming and relaxed, and the gorgeous house made our overnight stay a lovely one. Bringing our two dogs was no trouble at all, and breakfast was delicious. I'd definitely recommend it.

We had a lovely break at Lower House Farm B&B, where Sandra made us feel very welcome. Breakfast kept us going while we explored Hay on Wye, Ludlow and Hereford.

Sandra and John made Ian and me feel very welcome at this peaceful, glorious 15th-century farmhouse. Our room was beautiful, comfortable, and a lovely fit for the surroundings. We'll definitely be back. ❤️

We only stayed because we had urgent business in the area. The room was shabby, smelled fusty, and was poorly equipped. There wasn't a proper bedside table, just a stool with a tray, and the only lamp was shabby. The kettle's extension cable ran around the room to the only socket, which also powered that lamp. It was listed on Booking.com as a Deluxe Room, but there was no security: the front door and the other doors couldn't be locked, and no keys were provided. I didn't feel I could use the poor bathroom facilities. It was on the second floor, the bath was dirty with enamel missing, and the next flight of stairs was difficult for me because of a damaged knee. The listing didn't mention that extra flight of stairs, only that the room had a private bathroom. We were then told the owner's husband sometimes uses it. All the drawers and the wardrobe were crammed full of the owners' clothes, which isn't suitable for a paying guest. The ensuite room in their B&B must be the one getting the good reviews, because this room certainly couldn't. Please see my photos.
