We’ve just come back from a stay at Duke of Gordon Hotel from 18.1 to 22.1.26 with Cairngorm Travel, and loved it. The accommodation was excellent, the food was good and the staff were very friendly. We enjoyed the Aviemore Ski Centre and The highlands Wildlife Park, where it was lovely to see all the animals. Dundee was interesting too. Our Cairngorm Driver Jane was excellent, and Paul, our feeder Cairngorm Driver, was brilliant. We can’t wait to return.

We were on a coach party, using the hotel as our base for a lovely four-night stay, and only got back yesterday. Our spacious room had fresh, clean bedding, plenty of wardrobe space and a shower over the bath. We slept well and were greeted by lots of smiling staff. Breakfast was buffet style and kept us going all day. The evening meals were good too, especially the soup starters, and some of the puddings were lovely. A special mention for Remy, who was so helpful and even gave us a hug as we left, and Laura, who has a smile for everyone. We hope to see you all again soon. There was even a piper on Saturday night to make it feel extra Scottish.

Everyone made us feel welcome during a great stay at this nice hotel. The breakfast was very good, and the location was handy for visiting the nearby points of interest. The whole experience was excellent for a very competitive price.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel was clean. It does need some renovation, though, and the heat throughout the building, even in the dining room, made it uncomfortable. A shame the bar shuts at 10pm.

The building has faded grandeur and plenty of potential, but it needs some care and a fresh approach for changing times. We stopped in for a quick bar lunch. The food was fine, if uninspired, and the staff were efficient though a little brusque.
