Loch Insh Chalets Ltd

The activities booking was a frustrating mess. I was first told to arrange beach activities by email, then asked to call. After several unanswered calls, I emailed again and was told I could book when I arrived. At the desk, the receptionist was rude to my family and me, and gave me incorrect information about when the activities opened, which made planning difficult. I paid almost £1000, but was given what I believe was the worst chalet, below my expectations for cleanliness and comfort. The management treated us unfairly and unprofessionally. Staff should treat guests respectfully and provide the services they have paid for. My stay at Loch Insh Chalets & Apartments was disappointing, and I believe management should be held accountable.

We could park right outside the chalet, and Loch Insh centre was about a five-minute walk down the hill, with a restaurant and ice rink there. They also offer very good snowboard lessons. Our wooden chalet was spacious, with two single beds in one room, a double in another, and a bunk under the attic for my daughter. We brought our cat, who loved that attic space. There was a fireplace, electric heating, and a kitchen with an oven, hob, microwave and dishwasher. The shower was basic, but warm, with heated flooring.

The bed was quite uncomfortable, though that was only a small drawback. The chalet itself was fantastic, in a lovely spot with a great view. What a lovely place.

The hot tub was good, and the bed was clean, but the floor wasn't. The cabin could use a refresh. Some staff were nice, while others were pretty rude and a bit unwelcoming. The cafe was very overpriced for subpar, canteen-style food.
