Bellavista Guest House

Sandra was a lovely host, and I couldn't have asked for more during my six nights here. My room was comfortable and clean, and breakfast had lots of options. I could make tea or coffee in the room, or sit in the cozy lounge and enjoy the beautiful sea view. Sometimes Charlie the yellow lab and Harry, the tuxedo cat, were around for a pet, though they stay outside the B&B.

Sandra, the owner, made us feel very welcome during our week at the Bellavista. My husband and I had a spacious, comfortable room, and we enjoyed the living room and well-appointed library. It's a pleasant mile's walk into central Kirkwall, and there's also a bus route nearby. We walked into town every day and got to meet several locals along the way. We loved our stay and highly recommend it for an Orkney visit.

The host was brilliant and couldn't have been more helpful. She made a fantastic breakfast, too. The place is spotless, quiet and in a beautiful spot, with an easy walk to the centre. The lounge has lots of extra books and games. I had the “worst” room, with a separate bathroom, but it was still lovely and that setup made little difference. I'd happily come back again!

The rooms are on the small side, but they're very clean and have great amenities. It takes about 15 minutes to walk into town. The place is beautiful inside and out, with great food and amazing views. We'll definitely be back.
