Breakfast didn't have much to choose from, though the view was great. The rooms felt old and a bit worn, but they were spotless, and the beds were really comfortable. Better than I expected.

This happened twice. They took bookings even though the place was closed, then didn't contact us or cancel in advance. We were left outside in the middle of the night with three children. The so-called new management is still making a mess of things. Terrible, stay away.

The host was lovely and did everything to help and accommodate us during our stay. The hotel was clean and well looked after, and it was excellent value for money. Highly recommend it.

If you like hiking, this place has a lot to offer, and the worker/owner was really helpful. I appreciate it and I'll be back. It's a lovely, amazing place and very affordable, better than the other hotels around that charge an arm and a leg. It just needs custom to be perfect.

Even in heavy rain, the rooms stay warm. They're clean and tidy, with a decent amount of space. It's in a beautiful part of the Northumberland National park, close to plenty of places worth seeing around this part of the UK. The new management is working on getting the place back into shape.
