The beer was excellent, and the group tour lunch went smoothly: there was no wait, the food came quickly, and the servers were polite and friendly. Our guide had arranged meals and drinks for all 65 of us ahead of time, and we were welcomed with our chosen drinks and shown to our tables. I ordered fish and chips, while my wife had the chicken burger. The fish was hot but bland, and the burger was tasty enough, though it was a thick piece of chicken breast that was awkward to eat. I’d put the food at about 3/5. Still, I enjoyed the meal with fellow travelers from Puerto Rico and Dublin, swapping travel stories. Lacock Village was our third stop and lunch break on the day tour, a nice chance to eat before exploring the historic National Trust village. The sign says the restaurant has served people since 1361, so apparently we ate in a 663-year-old restaurant. Wow.

This was our lunch stop on a tour, and the service for our group was great. I had fish and chips with an IPA, and it was a really satisfying, tasty meal. The fish was delicious, and it was my first time getting tartar sauce in a packet. Still delicious. The chips and mashed peas were great too. I’d come back to try more of the menu and beer.

We stopped here quickly for lunch during a tour bus trip. The food was a little bland, but the service was wonderful and everyone was very friendly.

The interior has an interesting old feel, and there’s a pleasant shaded area outside. The atmosphere was nice, with warm, friendly and prompt service. Our whole group was happy with the food: I had the beef Sunday roast and apple and blackberry crumble tart. Both were great, and the portions were decent.

We got a quick lunch and had extra time to explore the small town afterward, which was a big plus. There were three dishes to choose from with our tour meal. We picked fish and chips and chicken ham pie. Both were decent, though nothing special.
