The Spread Eagle

The TV in the bar is so loud it could save you money on hearing aid batteries. I had to leave because it was that bad. My room was some distance away, but I could still hear the football from there. The barmaid said the volume was so high that she sometimes struggled to hear customers. If you're deaf, it's a good choice. Will I return? No way.

We came back as returning customers under the new management, who had made a great impression. But when the post mix wasn't working, drink prices went up, even though it wasn't our fault. We had to pay £2.50 per bottle without an explanation or discount. The same round of drinks cost £6 less last week, so that was disappointing.

We celebrated my daughter's 40th in the function room. The room was great, and so was the barman. My only complaint is the big puddle you can't avoid at the bottom of the steps when it's raining.

The room smelled bad and was dirty, with a hole in the ceiling, a shower that didn't work properly, and chewing gum on the sheets. Check-in took ages because one woman was working behind the bar and doubling as receptionist. Terrible hotel. I'd never stay here again.
