Weaste Hotel, West Manchester

The receptionist helped us by changing our room, which was good. The first one was awful: the shower was clogged and filled with dirty water, and the toilet moved side to side. A toilet smell hit us as soon as we entered the hotel and stayed with us even in the room. Probably the worst hotel stay I’ve had. Please avoid this place unless you want to experience the same.

The toilet and bathroom were unstable, unusable and clearly neglected, and the hotel’s condition raises serious health and safety concerns. The beds and towels were dirty, and the floor, walls and windows were filthy and damaged. My stay at Weaste Hotel in West Manchester was completely unacceptable and unhygienic. I’m preparing to pursue legal action over this. No guest should have to stay in those conditions. I strongly urge the relevant authorities to inspect the property and act promptly so it meets proper safety and hygiene standards, or close it until it does.

The whole place felt partly finished and legally unlivable. I had a complete mental breakdown staying there. The room was filthy, with mold and spider webs everywhere. The bedding was stained, the bathroom was dirty and smelled awful, and the kettle was broken and posed an electrical safety hazard. Even the replacement bedsheet they gave us was dirty. Absolutely disgusting and unsafe, not worth a penny. I’d never book this hotel again.

I’d read the reviews and wasn’t looking forward to staying, but the service on arrival surprised me. The receptionist greeted me very politely, and the room was so clean and tidy it felt like walking into a brand-new hotel. New staff told me the hotel was under new management and that standards had changed. I booked for Halloween weekend and had a wonderful stay. I was really pleased and would recommend it to friends and family visiting Manchester. It’s one of the nicest budget hotels I’ve stayed in.
