This used to be one of my favourite places, with a good atmosphere and excellent pub food, so I'm sad to say I won't be going back. I like the place and used to eat here several times a year, though it had been over 12 months since my last visit. This time, the seating was badly stained and faded, with a few holes, and a chair beside us had a broken back. The starters arrived after a reasonable wait and were okay, but then we waited a long time for the mains. They apologized and said they were busy, though the place was only half full. The food was disappointing. I ordered vegetable korma, but the sauce was wrong and it was mostly spinach with chopped onion and mushroom. The naan was overcooked and hard on the bottom. We ate most of it because we were hungry by then. Dessert took even longer. I noticed other customers waiting too, and some were missed altogether. I mentioned it to the staff and was told they were sorry but busy. I was too tired to argue, so left it there. A disappointing visit.

There's a big car park, an enclosed play area for children and really friendly staff. Food is served all day, every day, with a great menu. The Sunday carveries are amazing and usually run until about 4 p.m.; venison is sometimes available too. I enjoy the food, drinks and sitting outside in summer. They have a world food theme menu every Wednesday, and I loved their American night. There's music on the last Wednesday of each month from about 9 p.m., I think.

We found this spot while visiting family nearby. The food was great and reasonably priced, and it felt family friendly. The woman behind the bar made us feel very welcome and even came over to say goodbye at the end of her shift. I'd definitely recommend stopping in.

The carvery was spot on, and dessert was really nice too. Staff were cheerful and helpful, and it's very child friendly. The kids' park is a good size, clean and well kept. I'd recommend it for a birthday, reception or family get-together, and can't recommend it enough.

I've always had a warm welcome here, and the food is well cooked at fair prices. I had the mixed grill last night, asked for it medium and that's just how it arrived. My friend had the chops and said they were some of the best food he'd had in ages. There's a restaurant area as well if you'd rather not eat in the bar or lounge.
