The patio gets lovely sunshine, and I spent many an hour out there reading. It’s about a minute’s walk from the Cauldron Falls, and you can see Bolton Castle on the hills whenever you go out. The cottage was cosy and well equipped, and we enjoyed our stay very much. It has lots of original features, with five steps up to the kitchen and another flight of stairs to the bedroom. It’s well placed for local attractions including Bolton Castle, Richmond Castle, Fountain Abbey and Stump Cross mine.

A cosy wood burner in the living room, a warm and comfortable cottage, and dogs are welcome. The fixtures and fittings are high quality, and it even has an Everhot range cooker. Beautiful and well equipped. What more do you want?

The village is lovely and the cottage is nicely equipped, with plenty to do with our young dog. The TV reception was terrible, though. It was really frustrating trying to relax with it after a long day.
