Breakfast was okay, though it wasn’t the best I’ve had at a Crowne Plaza, and I missed having a self-service coffee machine. The location worked well for my work and football plans, with Everton Stadium about a 20-minute walk away, and the Liver Building right next door. Check-in was quick, the staff were kind and attentive, and parking had plenty of spaces. My room was comfortable and roomy, while the bathroom was clean and spacious but a little dated. The heating and air conditioning were very noisy.

The decor inside was lovely, and I really enjoyed the spa. The pool, steam room and sauna were all great to use. The jacuzzi wasn’t heating properly, but it was lukewarm and we didn’t mind. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at, and I’d definitely recommend it.

The breakfast was a real highlight, with plenty of fresh, nicely presented hot and cold options. I also liked how easy it was to walk to Liverpool One, the city centre and the Albert Dock attractions. I was there for an event, and the staff had everything running smoothly. They were friendly and professional, and the event was very well organised. My room was clean and comfortable with what I needed, though a few spots were starting to look worn. The hotel itself was in good condition, and the pool looked inviting, but I hadn’t brought swimwear this time. I’ll pack it for another visit. Parking is on the expensive side, so factor that in if you’re driving. I had a very positive stay and would happily return, whether for an event or some time in the city.

I stayed for one night on 11th February, and the room was so hot and stuffy that we couldn’t sleep. There were no windows we could open. I was five months pregnant, which made it especially uncomfortable. Reception said the heating couldn’t be turned off centrally. They gave us a fan, but it didn’t help and left our throats very dry by morning. At checkout, we were told the hotel would contact the third-party booking provider about a refund. Nearly three months of chasing followed, with no resolution. I kept being passed between staff, asked to wait for particular people, or told to speak to the manager. Eventually I was asked to contact the provider myself, who said they needed a letter from the hotel to process the refund. I tried several times to get the letter and heard nothing. When the manager finally replied, she said she wouldn’t provide it and would contact the provider herself. I don’t understand why that couldn’t have happened earlier, instead of all the back-and-forth. By then, the offer had changed to 20%, with no clear explanation. That partial refund never came through either. I was again told to contact the provider, who still said they needed written confirmation from the hotel. I’ve given up. The whole thing has wasted so much time, with no accountability or solution. The stay was extremely uncomfortable, and the lack of follow-through afterwards was even more disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, based on both the room and the way the complaint was handled.

The location was excellent, and we had lovely views over the docks. Breakfast had lots of choice and was fantastic, while the front-of-house team were helpful and courteous. Our room was mostly clean, though there was a small patch of mould in the shower. We were there for three nights in March. The room felt uncomfortably warm, and the window didn’t open. The fan was so noisy it sounded like a small jet engine. The shower drain kept blocking, leaving you standing in dirty water. Maintenance fixed it, but the blockage returned. The beds felt worn and due for replacement. There was building work during our stay, which we hadn’t been told about when booking. The bar was closed and there was noticeable daytime noise. There were some real positives, but these issues need attention, and the stay didn’t feel worth the money.
