Duke Street Townhouse by EPIC

I’ve stayed here a few times and enjoyed it each time. The rooms are clean and modern, the staff are friendly, and it’s really close to the town centre.

The bed was lovely and comfortable, and the room looked beautiful. The staff were amazing too. We’d happily stay again and would definitely recommend it.

The £100 deposit came as a surprise because it wasn’t mentioned when I booked. There was confusion at check-in too. The man who checked us in asked to see both our IDs, which was reasonable, but the next day a woman at reception said we hadn’t paid the deposit, even though we’d already checked in. Later, we had to return because she’d forgotten to get the second party’s details. It would’ve been much easier if the first person had handled everything properly. We were on the ground floor beside the lift, and people coming and going made a lot of noise. The hallway door kept slamming and disturbed my sleep. A simple sign asking people to close it gently could help.

Good location, friendly service and a fair price. The room was a bit worn, though the mini fridge was well stocked and reasonably priced.
