I stayed at Hard Days Night Hotel twice before, in 2010 and 2019, but after our stay from 14th February to 15th February 2026, it seems the standards have clearly slipped. The hotel refused to engage when I tried to discuss the problems, which was the most disappointing part. Sadly, I won't return, despite the good stays in the past. Our room faced Matthew Street. Nearby venues made noise until around 4am, then loud revellers carried on for hours. Even earplugs couldn't make it possible to sleep. A hotel's main job is to provide a comfortable night's rest, and that was impossible here. Liverpool has an 11pm noise curfew, and it's evident that venues on Matthew Street are flaunting it. The hotel should be working with the council to keep this in check for guests. The air conditioning also had ongoing problems, which staff acknowledged at check-in. Online reviews suggest this has been an issue for some time, so it should have been mentioned when booking or alternative arrangements offered. Instead we had really poor temperature control. The pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable, adding to an already awful night.

I've visited Liverpool many times and absolutely love the city. We got the chance to stay at Hard Days Night Hotel this weekend and were impressed as soon as we walked through the front door. The reception was beautiful and eye-catching, and the staff were friendly when we arrived. Our room was spacious and clean, with a subtle Beatles theme. It stayed at a comfortable temperature, and the beds were comfortable too. We'll definitely return next time we plan a visit.

The Cavern Quarter is noisy, with music going until 3am, and our room faced Matthew Street with its bars and clubs. It didn't really bother me as a night owl and deep sleeper, but I'd suggest asking for a room away from the noise or bringing noise cancelling earplugs. It definitely wouldn't stop me staying again. I highly recommend this top tier hotel. The atmosphere was really nice, with Beatles memorabilia throughout, and our room matched the theme. It had a picture of John Lennon as a kid with the backstory. Staff were friendly and welcoming all stay, the rooms were spotless, and having a bath was a plus. It's the best hotel I've stayed in for a long time.

I'm from Liverpool and have stayed here a few times over the years, but I was really disappointed. Since our last visit, maintenance has gone downhill dramatically. The panel for the room key card was hanging off the wall, and the windows wouldn't shut properly, leaving the room drafty and noisy with no soundproofing. Breakfast was messy too, with used tea bags overflowing by the coffee machine, food not replenished, and no teaspoons. Maybe those sound like small things, but I don't expect them at a four star hotel. Such a shame to see this iconic hotel going down the drain.

We stayed on 9th/10th January '26 for our wedding anniversary. Compared with our stay a few years ago, the place has been freshened up and looks much better. The history information around reception, bar and restaurant was really interesting. If you're driving, pre-book a parking space with the hotel. Without a booking, they can't give you the discounted rate. Booking.com didn't mention that when we checked, so we got caught out. At the time of writing, one night of parking was £25 with no discount. Reception handled the issue when we arrived, and we were very happy with the outcome. The communal areas and our spacious, comfortable room were all clean, and the room had everything we needed. We ate dinner at North Sixty4. I had the hake, perfectly cooked and amazing, though I was disappointed there was no Samphire as listed on the menu. It didn't spoil the dish. My husband had the Penny Lane fish & chips and was disappointed that the chips were frozen rather than made in-house, and that the fish had a rubbery spine or edge. When staff asked about the meal, we raised the fish issue. They handled it brilliantly and showed real concern. The last we heard, the chef said,
