There’s a great choice of restaurants and bars just down the road, and some lovely beaches are only a stone’s throw away. The Marlborough Hotel has recently been renovated, and the work feels tasteful, with a real sense of quality throughout. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Even with people feeling a little apprehensive in the post Covid environment, we felt at home right away. It’s amazing value, and I’d highly recommend it.

The rooms are disgusting. Move the beds and look underneath if you don’t believe me. I wouldn’t stay there again. The woman next door, the manageress, Maxine, doesn’t clean properly and gets very angry and nasty when you point out the dirt and mess. She needs to do her job properly.

It’s cheap and cheerful, and really more of a B&B than a hotel. The staff were great, friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and tidy, and breakfast was excellent, served until 9:30am. A few areas could use maintenance, but at the reasonable price I couldn’t complain. It’s on the main road out of Liverpool, under a ten-minute walk from Waterloo station, and there’s a car park at the back. I’d definitely consider staying at The Marlborough again if I’m in the area.

The room is huge, modern and nicely decorated, with an ensuite, so we're very pleased with it. We've spent the evening downstairs at the bar chatting with Ann, who's been brilliant and suggested lots of places for us to visit. It's only 1am and this is our first couple of nights here, but she's already gone above and beyond for us. :)

The bathroom was tidy and modern, and the room itself was really pleasant. I hadn't expected much for the price, so it was a nice surprise to see how much care seems to have gone into the recent refurbishment. Breakfast in the morning was a full English and included in the stay. I spent one night here and would come back if I'm in the area again.
