Signature Living Bold Street

With 18 of us sharing one shower, only one person could use it at a time because the water pressure was practically nonexistent. The second room we were moved to was a little better, but the place looked nothing like the pictures on Instagram or the website. We paid over £3,000 expecting luxury and got what felt like a run-down brothel. In the first room, which was more like a dirty old dungeon than a ‘luxury party apartment’, the sound system and fridge were broken, no water came from the taps, and there was a horrible damp and drain smell. Reception told us Tesco's drain problems were causing the smell. The service was a shambles, and the whole experience was nowhere near worth the price. The only good things were the location and the door out.

The breakfast delivery in the morning was really good, came in boxes, and there was plenty for everyone. The Vault itself was amazing, but it took nearly three hours to fill the bath, and maintenance had to come sort out the temperature. They were called back four times because the music system kept tripping. Sockets were hanging off the wall, and all the cables running along the ceiling didn't look safe. If those problems were fixed, it would've been a brilliant night instead of a faulty towers experience.

The location was good, but we were very disappointed, especially for the price. We stayed in the basement Vault, where there was clearly a damp problem. It smelled unpleasant and the beds were damp. There was no warm water for the hot tub, and the advertised Wi-Fi didn't work, even though we'd planned to use it for music that evening.

The apartment was underground, with no windows or natural light, and seemed to have no proper ventilation, which may explain the damp smell. It was very cold too. We had three bedrooms with several beds, but couldn't use one room because the damp smell was so bad. All the beds felt damp, so our whole party of 17 ended up sleeping on towels. Each room had a bathroom with a sink barely big enough to fit your hands in, and the bathroom door opposite the kitchen wouldn't open. Getting there was a hassle because the street is pedestrian only, so we had to carry our luggage from the Art House Hotel two streets away. The room wasn't labelled, and the entry code failed on every door we tried, so we had to return to the Art House Hotel for help. We also struggled to make the booking: they rarely answer the phone, took over a week to reply to our booking question, and didn't respond to several emails asking for extra things for the birthday weekend. After staying at the Shankly Hotel before, we expected a good weekend birthday celebration at the Vault room in the masonic apartments. It was awful and disappointing. I'd give zero stars if I could.
