Apartment 5, Cornerhouse Apartments

Flat 5 had all the amenities we needed, though the apartment looked a bit tired. We weren’t in it much during the day. Getting up to the apartments means tackling quite a lot of very steep stairs. The windows aren’t soundproof and need a good bang to shut. On the plus side, it’s very close to the beach, shops and restaurants, with a bus stop right outside for trips to Rhyl or Conwy Bay.

At Brooklyn No. 5, the room was in a filthy and badly run-down state. There was no toilet paper, tea or coffee, and the sofas were filthy while the mattress was dilapidated. The climb to the top floor was hard work too. I haven’t even spent a night and am literally looking for another hotel. I strongly advise avoiding this place.

Apartment 1 is a maisonette with one double bedroom and two twin bedrooms, and it had everything needed for a comfortable stay, though there was no hairdryer, so bring your own. The location is very central, ideal for the beach, shops and restaurants. Getting luggage in was challenging: there’s a quite steep staircase at the entrance, then more narrow stairs up to the apartment. It wouldn’t be good for anyone with mobility issues. I’d recommend these apartments for their comfort and central location.

The apartment was clean, spacious and lovely, within easy walking distance of the beach and pier, with beautiful views of the Orme. The building’s age and style mean there are about four fairly steep flights of stairs to reach it, so that could be a problem if stairs are difficult for you.
