The room itself, especially the bathroom, was very clean, and the staff were friendly. The hotel is in an excellent location, but there were some lapses in the details. We’d pre-booked a travel cot, but it wasn’t in the room and we had to chase it up. We also found a previous guest’s pyjamas in the bedside cabinet. The window openings need a good clean too. Breakfast was a bit of a shambles. Even though they knew how many infants were booked, there was only one highchair in the whole hotel. That was a problem with an energetic toddler, and staff couldn’t help. They said the hotel had sent all the other chairs to their sister hotel because they planned to stop allowing children at some point in the future. The buffet and crockery weren’t replenished promptly, so there was a queue. We had to ask for fruit, yoghurt, cereal bowls and napkins. Would I stay again? Probably, but I definitely wouldn’t book breakfast. I emailed the manager Liam while he wasn’t there, but so far he hasn’t replied.

The sea view rooms are worth recommending. Waking up to those lovely views was so nice, and the hotel itself was beautiful, with the rooms prepared to a very high standard. They even had binoculars in the room for looking out over the bay. Breakfast was high end too, with a wonderful choice of options. We only stayed one night, but the staff made it feel like a real customer service experience, with an exceptional welcome and attentive service throughout. This is a lovely part of the world and well worth a trip. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I stayed for two nights B&B with my five-year-old granddaughter. The location is fantastic, just across from the pier and about a five-minute walk to shops and bars. Breakfast was good: plenty of cereal and continental choices, and the cooked food was freshly made, very good and served promptly. The room amenities were excellent, with cans of water that were much appreciated in the heatwave, plenty of tea, milk and sugar, a coffee maker, plus thoughtful extras like earplugs, an eye mask and a fan. We were in superior rear twin room 106, but I didn’t think it deserved the word superior. It was quite small, the view was dismal and the carpet was grubby. The bathroom cleanliness really let it down, with what looked like blood stains on the walls and thick grime under the sink plug, unacceptable for the price. The room got very hot even with the fan, and heavy duvets weren’t ideal in hot weather. Lower tog duvets for warmer months might be worth considering. On our last day they did lift maintenance, so I had to carry our suitcases down two flights of stairs, which wasn’t great while recovering from cancer surgery. Would I stay again? Yes, but I’d want a larger room with a view, which would obviously cost more, so I’d expect better cleanliness.

We’ve just had our second stay and will no doubt be back again soon. The rooms are spacious and modern, and our bed was comfy. Staff are great, always chatty and pleasant. September weather was kind to us, so we enjoyed drinks on the sunny front terrace overlooking the promenade and pier before heading to a comedy gig at the nearby theatre. Breakfast was cooked to order, and the staff suggested taking another coffee outside to enjoy the sun. Fabulous.

just got back from belmont after a fantastic time. we were short staffed, but jenny was so organised, taking breakfast orders, serving, cleaning as she went and managing reception, all while still smiling. she was amazing, especially with me, my daughter and my autistic grandson. nothing was too much trouble. she's an absolute asset
