The location was great, with the seafront and main street less than a couple of minutes away. We parked around the corner in the town hall car park for a fiver, and you can stop outside the hotel free for 90 minutes to unload bags. Our third-floor twin room was clean, the beds and pillows were comfy, and the view was okay. The decor throughout is dated and could use an update, though everything was clean. The bathroom was modern, with a good shower and hot water, and the towels and linen were nice. There’s a modern lift to all three floors and a bar where we got a free drink through hotel.com. Breakfast was included, help-yourself buffet style, fresh and delicious, with a full English or Welsh breakfast, plus yoghurt, fruit, tea, coffee and juice. We stayed one night and it wasn’t noisy.

There was no hot water for our showers, and that wrecked our Valentine’s weekend. We’d checked in at 2:30 pm and spent a fantastic day around Llandudno, then got back around midnight. After coffee and a chat, we went to get ready for Valentine’s Day, but there was no hot water at all. My girlfriend was furious. The receptionist just said there was nothing he could do, which made things worse. She packed her bags and caught the first train home. I ran to the station like an idiot the next morning hoping to save the day, but she’d already gone. I had breakfast alone, then packed up and checked out instead of staying on. After she’d left, someone asked if I wanted another room. I said there was no point then. It was a shame that couldn’t have happened earlier. It felt as if nobody had passed the problem along or tried to sort it out. The decor is dated, as people say. Breakfast was okay, but the toasters need replacing if it takes ten minutes to make toast. The man who greeted us and worked at the bar was decent. The lift is the only modern thing, and it even tells you the weather. I called the hotel later to see if they wanted to say anything. They apologized, but said they’d have to speak to the boss and couldn’t say more, which didn’t resolve anything. I’d also emailed 24 hours earlier and got no response. There are lots of hotels in Llandudno. I’ve stayed at a few, and for the same money you can have a better experience. Much love, hope this helps anyone planning a trip.

We had a lovely two-night stay. The room was small but had everything you’d want, though the bathroom was really tiny. It was great to come back to a room that had been made up each day. The help-yourself breakfast was excellent, and the free drink each was a nice surprise.

The staff were polite and helpful, and the self-service breakfast had good products with plenty of choice. The room was very clean, but the shower didn’t work properly. The lift was a godsend. It was described as a sea-view room, though the hotel is just around the corner from the parade, so you could only see part of the sea.

We come back for the event we do in town each year, and this was our third year staying here. It’s very good value, with a great breakfast. The couple who own the place are lovely, and the staff are lovely in general too. We’ll be back!
