Jillie is a lovely host, and this is good value for such a peaceful rural spot. Carmarthen is still close by, and The Forest Arms up the road is a great, dog-friendly pub. We’ll be back soon 😊

There wasn’t much to do, and most of the games were broken, missing pieces, or just not very good. We even had to fix one before we could play. The house wasn’t clean, and there were too many spiders in the rooms. A dog also tried to attack our children. The owner was rude to us and the children, was often around, and didn’t give us any privacy. Wherever we went, she told us it was private property. We were so bored. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

The farm setting was cluttered with old broken equipment and random items, which spoiled the view and added to the feeling of dirtiness. For a £2k stay, the property was already in poor shape when we arrived: dusty floors, webs in the rooms and bathroom, greasy ovens we couldn’t use, and hair on the sheets. The toilet seat and curtain rods were broken too, but we were later blamed for the damage. There were arguments throughout, and the owner always said it was our fault for not asking about where we could go, checkout, or walking routes. Those rules should have been made clear from the start. Checkout time was buried in an email attachment, and there was no guidance about where we could go. Check-in was delayed because the owner was still cleaning herself, despite the claim that a professional team would do it. The listing showed the field beside the property, but when our children briefly went there, the owner shouted at them instead of talking to an adult. She had a dog, and I clearly told her some family members had phobias or traumatic experiences with dogs. Even so, it came inside the house on the second day and upset them. The owner lives in a caravan directly in front of the property and was often around, so we had no privacy. We’ve stayed in lots of family rentals and have a 4.9 guest rating ourselves, but we’ve never had cleanliness, communication, or host behaviour this poor. Not recommended.

Dust and spiderwebs everywhere, thousands of flies, and dirty toilets. The place was nasty and the landlord was rude. It was a waste of time and money, and I’d never go back. I can’t recommend it.

We were 15 for a stag do, and the space worked out perfectly for us. It was peaceful and clean, and Jillie was helpful with what we needed. Thanks for the hospitality. I’d definitely book again.
