The ducks wandering around the grounds were lovely to watch, especially when one took a bath in the fountain. We nearly missed out because Ardwyn house was the last place available, but it turned out to be a jackpot. Our room was lovely and the bed was among the most comfortable we've slept in. The hosts made sure we had everything we needed, and the chef's carrot cake was so moist and delicious it could have come from a Michelin-style restaurant.

We’ll definitely be back. Richard was so welcoming and took time to introduce us to the resident ducks and his dogs. The rooms were lovely and really clean, and the views were great. Breakfast was the best cooked breakfast. Thanks, Lisa and Matt, Grimsby.

The breakfast was incredible, and our room was really comfortable. The whole place was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. We got such a warm, friendly welcome from the hosts. Can’t wait to come back!

After my son and I arrived from a 45 mile bike ride, Roger made sure we had everything we needed and felt comfortable. He and Katie were exceptionally welcoming and friendly. The guest house had a warm, relaxed feel, and it was clear how much Roger cares about his guests. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it for the personal touch and great hospitality.

Roger brought plenty of fun and good energy to our stay, and shared lots of laughs with my husband. His cooking was excellent, especially the delicious carrot cake. Breakfast was carefully prepared and beautifully served, with fresh white linen napkins, something you hardly see these days, even at Hiltons. We had a lovely view, a clean bathroom, and the room had the shower we’d asked for. It was a warm, friendly stay, with care taken over both the big things and the little details.
