Amazing London

I loved the terrace, a lovely place for breakfast or to unwind in the evening, and the house was nicely decorated. The neighborhood has beautiful houses, a good breakfast spot nearby, and the underground is very close. The host replied to messages fairly quickly. Getting in was a frustrating start. I’d come from Luton Airport, exhausted and soaked after heavy rain, but had no instructions beforehand and no sign or information to show I’d found the right place. I had to work it out myself, and only received the key collection code once I was outside, wet and tired. I think check-in details should arrive at least 24 hours ahead. We were asked to wear slippers indoors, which makes sense, but I worried they weren’t disinfected between guests and didn’t feel comfortable using them because of hygiene and possible infections. The Wi-Fi was awful, and even YouTube wouldn’t load on the TV. Cleanliness also needed attention: there were cobwebs on the ceiling, bathroom water drained poorly, and the sink was clogged.

The owner, Sandy, is the real reason to stay here. She’s the best host I’ve ever met, and after we were very unhappy with our first room, she went well out of her way to make things right. The BnB is a small, privately owned place in a nice neighborhood, about an hour from London Center by public transport. The nearest tube is around a five-minute walk, and grocery shops and other useful services are closer still. Rooms are on the small side but workable for two. There’s a well-equipped shared kitchen, and nearly every room has a fridge and kettle. Enjoy your stay.

The room was nice and the tube is a great distance away. Internet was kind of garbage at times. What really bothered me was the bed: just a box spring with a cheap bit of foam and padding on top, so I couldn’t get a decent sleep. I don’t like paying money to cheapskates. Save your back and stay somewhere that actually puts money into a proper mattress.

Our room was immaculate, with a microwave, fridge, kettle and a lovely, well-stocked shower room. It’s a fabulous place for comfort and a bit of luxury, about a five-minute walk to the station and 20 minutes into central London. I’ll be back next time we come to London.
