Channins Hounslow Hotel

The staff deserve 10 stars. They’re all lovely, but clearly overworked. As for the hotel itself, I’d give it minus 5 if I could. It’s repulsive, with mice and rats, mold on the walls and in the drains, filthy carpets, and dirty mattresses. In every room I know of, and outside too, there are mice and rats. I spent over six months there and tried to stay positive, but that was difficult. The owners are slum lords and slave drivers. This place needs proper fumigation or to be knocked down. It should be condemned.

This hotel is currently being used as temporary accommodation arranged with council assistance.

The rooms, sheets, and en suite were clean, and the staff are kind and listen when you talk to them. The car park feels safe, and there’s CCTV across the property, so I felt secure here. I wouldn’t go out of my way to stay, but for a bed for a night or two, it’s not too bad.

The place is old and run down, and the rooms have mice and roaches. Some have bed bugs too. Mice show up regularly at night, so bring traps. Pest control comes by, but the method isn’t working and makes no difference. The staff, though, are reliable and useful. I contacted Wandsworth council about the mice, and they just kept saying it was mice season and that I should take responsibility. What a lot of crap. If your council has arranged for you to stay here because you’ve lost your home, then I suppose you have no choice but to carry on like a zombie. Otherwise, avoid Channins Hounslow Hotel at all cost and stay somewhere else. Don’t say you weren’t warned.
