We picked this building because we were going to a concert in Hyde Park, and Marble Arch is only about a five-minute walk away. We’re staying in a studio overlooking lively Edgware Road, so there’s quite a bit of noise at times, though the building itself has been quiet. Maybe the soundproofing is good, or maybe there just aren’t many people here. The entrance is secure, there’s someone at the desk in the impressive lobby, and lifts serve all the floors. We’ve been enjoying our Airbnb stay and would book here again if we needed somewhere in this area.
The 24-hour concierge has been great, always friendly and ready to help. Thanks for all your help, guys. Forset Court is a real find in central London. It has plenty of charm, and Hyde Park is just moments away, so it’s a convenient spot for city living.
I’d seen some negative reviews, but they were from at least two years ago. The building seems to have had a full renovation recently. We stayed with the kids in an apartment on the seventh floor, and it was in excellent condition. The washer, stove, and bathroom were all in good shape, and there were plenty of towels, kitchen utensils, and even detergent. The location is excellent, right in the middle of London with supermarkets, cafés, pharmacies, restaurants, and a bus stop all around. The secure entrance and round-the-clock security made a good first impression, too. The only issue was a smell in the bathroom, which I think was coming through the pipes near the washbasin. Update: pouring boiled water down the sink fixed it easily.
We’d stayed only one night, and the apartment was dirty and unsuitable for a family. It felt like the manager was punishing us because we weren’t happy with it. Right after checkout, he made us leave the lobby, even though we had young kids with us. We ended up waiting outside in the rain for our Uber. The building management was really unprofessional. The manager, who seemed Iraqi from his accent, treated us with no respect at all.
The location was good and the kitchen was nice, but we wouldn’t stay here again. We booked through booking.com and stayed in No.21 at 140 Forset Court. Since only the person who books can leave a review there, I’m writing this here. The online photos are very far from what we found. Once past reception, the halls were grubby, with dirty carpets and walls, and No.21 was in much the same state. The bathroom doors wouldn’t shut properly and the toilets didn’t flush properly. They’d left a plunger, which now makes sense. The old windows were in poor condition, and the curtains let in a lot of light at night. The street below stayed noisy all night, though that’s part of staying in a city. We barely slept, and spent the night itching in the uncomfortable beds. Be careful about trusting the accommodation photos online. No.21 wasn’t as it had been made out to be.
