Stay Inn Apartments Aldgate

My birthday booking at StayInn City Aldgate Apartments turned into a mess. I was left stranded on the day, and the experience wasted both my time and money. When I arrived, I was refused access because of a 25-year age requirement and a £500 security deposit that hadn’t been clearly disclosed when I booked. Customer service first told me a refund “would not be a problem,” then later took that back and denied it. I’d been assured I’d get my initial payment back, so being left without the booking on my birthday was appalling. The lack of transparency and integrity from StayInn City Aldgate is incredibly frustrating. I want a full refund and won’t let this go. I strongly urge people not to book with StayInn City Aldgate, since you may run into hidden terms, dishonest customer service, and disregard for customer satisfaction.

I couldn’t get into City Aldgate Apartments when I arrived because of terms that weren’t clearly stated during booking: you have to be at least 25 to check in, and there’s a £500 deposit. I contacted customer service and was first told a refund “would not be a problem,” but they later refused my request. I lost time and money on a booking I couldn’t use. The dishonesty and lack of transparency are unacceptable, so be very cautious about booking here. I won’t let this go until I get my money back.

I gave them my card details after they said it was for security, but after I checked out they started taking money from my account without my consent. They charged me three times. I blocked the card, and then they tried to take money again. I never expected this kind of scam. Don’t give them your card details or photo ID.

Please read this before staying. We waited over 30 minutes after arriving, even though staff had told us when to get there, and they were rude and disrespectful throughout. After we went out clubbing with a couple of friends, my partner found that her Tiffany bracelet, which she’d left in her bag in the room so she wouldn’t lose it on the night out, was gone along with some cash. When we tried to report it and complain, they blocked both our phone numbers. I won’t stay here again.
