The Graig Bed and Breakfast Ludlow

After the journey, tea with homemade cake and biscuits from the lovely owners was very welcome. The rooms are well equipped and all on the ground floor, and the peaceful setting made for a very good night’s sleep in a comfortable bed. A lovely garden view and a wonderful breakfast with plenty of choice, including eggs from their own hens. Just the right B&B for the Ludlow area.

The walk up Clee Hill on the nearby Shropshire Way gives you breathtaking scenery from the top. The B&B is five miles outside Ludlow, right along the cloud line of Clee Hill, with lovely gardens, views and entertaining chickens. The owners gave us a wonderfully warm welcome and clearly want guests to enjoy the place as much as they do. There’s great attention to detail, and the setting feels private and peaceful, just right for unwinding. Breakfast was beautifully cooked and presented with locally sourced ingredients. Exceptionally well done.

The homemade breakfast compote with fruit, yoghurt and granola was a highlight. We also got to sit out and enjoy the garden. A big thank you to everyone at Graig B&B Ludlow for the warm welcome, including cake and tea when we arrived. It’s a special spot for a relaxing break in Ludlow.

I’m baffled that the hotel still has a fully working website and seems only to have changed the months it opens. We booked the Graig well in advance, on May 27th, for December 3rd-5th, 2021, for my birthday. Then on November 11th, less than three weeks before the stay, the venue called to cancel, saying the business was closing. The woman I spoke with was rude and unsympathetic, and argued that it would be difficult to find somewhere else so close to Christmas. She was right about that: Ludlow was largely booked up, and we ended up paying a premium for a not very good hotel. This was irresponsible. I strongly advise against booking if you don’t want to risk a last-minute cancellation.
