St Vincent Guest House

Maria welcomed us when we arrived for our South West Coast Path walk and was happy to answer questions and offer suggestions. She was engaging and chatty. The room was clean and comfortable, and nothing was lacking. Breakfast was plentiful, tasty and excellent. The property had three character cats and at least one visiting cat, and there were plenty of nearby places to eat. We had excellent tapas at Royal Oak. A highly recommended overnight stop.

We stayed at St Vincent Guest House, a place full of history, and the location at the top of Lynton made exploring easy. There is off-road parking, and if it fills up, nearby council parking is convenient and reasonably priced at £15 for 4 days. The owners were very welcoming and friendly, especially to our dog, which was a big plus for us. Our rooms were spotless, and breakfast was excellent, with a lovely hot meal each morning. We also tried the Sunday dinner and were impressed. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend it.

We booked at short notice for five nights and really enjoyed our stay. Maria and Clive were great hosts, always happy to help, and the breakfasts were fabulous and plentiful, especially Clive's legendary fry-ups. We're still trying to do our walks in our 60s, so our calves were sore, but Lynton and Lynmouth are lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed the break. Hopefully we'll return one day. My wife asked me to mention the biscuits in the room. I was more interested in the range of real ales at the Crown PH.

Blenheim was a beautiful bedroom with everything we needed and more, with pretty garden views and free parking nearby. We had a lovely two-night stay with our dog Flora. It was clean and comfortable, the hosts were lovely, and nothing was too much trouble. Clive cooked great breakfasts, while Maria brought the tea, cereal and toast along with her helpful, chatty manner. This is one of the best guest houses we've stayed in and we'd return. The hosts seem to genuinely like people, which isn't always the norm for a hotelier. We were sorry we couldn't try the Sunday roasts or evening meals this time.
