That cheeky sign out front made me smile: "On this site Sept. 5, 1782, nothing happened." My family and I stayed at the Cotford Hotel in October and had a lovely time. The rooms and gardens were beautiful, the service was wonderful, and it's very close to town and local amenities. We especially liked breakfast, and being able to reserve dinner at the restaurant. The food was delicious and had plenty of great choices. It's a charming, well-run place.

We came for our anniversary and loved it. The food and service were amazing, and from the warm smile when we arrived, we were well looked after. It's a snug, glamorous place to eat, and I'd recommend it to anyone nearby.

The Garden Room suited me and my dog perfectly, with its own access to the garden. It's a beautiful garden too, with sheltered places to sit over a glass of wine. The owners are a lovely couple who clearly enjoy being involved day to day. The food was great, and they were happy to make something that wasn't on the menu. Melissa deserves a mention for her service as well.

I've been to Amuse Bouche restaurant here twice, and it's a bit of a hidden gem. The food is great and the service excellent. Some parts of the place look a little dated, though a small investment could sort that out. I'd recommend eating here for a refined menu that still feels familiar. I'll be back.

The staff greeted us warmly at the entrance and showed us to our dinner table. The food was exquisite, and the staff were polite and attentive. We'd happily return and highly recommend it.
