Rafa from in-room dining made a big difference to our stay. He was warm, professional, quick, and got our orders right both days. The food was delicious, and everyone we met was courteous and helpful. We spent two nights at The Edwardian Manchester on the way from London to see a Manchester United match. The rooms were comfortable, the facilities were great, and the central location worked perfectly. We had a lovely time and would happily return when we're next in Manchester. Shaheen & Rejwana

Book spa treatments ahead if you want one. They were fully booked for the first two days of our visit. You'll also want to reserve a time for the spa pool when you arrive, since those slots fill up quickly. The breakfast was the best I've had in Manchester, with loads of tasty options. The hotel itself is beautiful, with great facilities and really lovely people at reception and elsewhere. Booking directly with the hotel may give you clearer information. Thanks to all the staff and managers for a great stay. We'll be back.

We accidentally left my partner's AirPods in the gym, but the hotel found them quickly and sent them to our home within a week. Really impressive. The gym and spa were spotless, well equipped, and one of the best parts of our stay. The bed was wonderful too, and the place had a great feel to it. Every staff member we met was welcoming and attentive. We had such a good time that we'll definitely stay again and recommend it to others.

The service let the stay down most. The receptionist at check-in wasn't especially welcoming, the concierge didn't acknowledge us when we arrived or left, and the woman in the spa was rude and unfriendly. Asking her for towels felt like we were imposing. The luggage attendant at the entrance was the exception, professional and helpful throughout. The hotel has a lot going for it: a central spot with everything within walking distance, a quiet room on the 9th floor, a lovely view, comfortable bed and good bedding. It's an old building but well kept and still elegant. The gym is outstanding, and although the spa is small, we enjoyed it. We also had a stressful departure on May 31. The hotel had suggested the parking facility where we left the car, but no one warned us that a marathon would close the city centre roads. When we set off for the airport, we found the surrounding roads blocked and couldn't see a legal way out. Security at the roadblocks repeatedly said there was no exit. After a lot of time talking with security and city staff, we got out through special exceptions. Without extra time, we could easily have missed our flight. Since the event was planned and the hotel knew when we were leaving, an advance warning would have let us make other arrangements. That lack of communication added needless stress. We had a decent stay, but those issues kept it from being truly enjoyable.

The Champagne bar was my highlight, with a relaxed atmosphere, a nice selection, and books that gave the space a more inviting feel. The food was very good too, and the staff were attentive, friendly, and professional. I only visited The Edwardian Manchester, A Radisson Collection Hotel for a meeting, so I can't speak to an overnight stay. The place looked high-end and thoughtfully put together. Based on what I saw, I'd definitely come back.
