Dave and Michelle must be the best hosts on the coast. The six of us had a wonderful roast lunch today, with drinks, mains and dessert, and we were treated very well. There was plenty of food. Try to get there before the chef goes on holiday after 12 March. If you can’t, it’s worth booking when the kitchen opens again.

Michelle, the owner, answered all my messages before my daughter and I arrived, and was lovely in person, helping with everything we needed. Dave also came quickly to sort out a request about the room. We had a comfortable bed and a lovely evening with a great dinner at the pub before heading back to London. There’s a wonderful Bakery nearby, plus other options if you don’t want to go into the town centre during the week. If you do go, it’s very close. We’ll definitely come back. The room was a bit moldy, though the price wasn’t bad. I’m pretty sure it was haunted, though. The woman working the bar was amazing and helped with all my requests.

We were on a road trip, and my friend was staying here. We arrived too late for food, but the landlord let us get fish and chips from the shop and eat at one of his tables. The live music was great, and so were the staff.

There’s food and drink available downstairs for most of the day, and the atmosphere is nice. The woman who checked us in was friendly and helpful, putting us at ease straight away. The room wasn’t the best, but it was pleasant and clean, fine for a one-night work stay.
