The West Wing at Everleigh Manor

The grounds are beautiful, and the super host made our family feel at home during our short stay at the west wing everleigh manor. The accommodation suited us perfectly, with comfortable bedrooms, a large dining room, a functional kitchen and outdoor areas.

Breakfast was lovely, freshly made to order by the lady of the manor, who was lovely herself. I liked the place very much, but the price didn't quite match what I expected from the overall package, so it's a four-star stay for me. The manor is a lovely big house, with comfortable, functional rooms in the attached "west wing". The walls are very thin, though, and you can hear everything next door. The rooms mirror each other, so the neighbouring bed is against the same wall. I could hear every grunt from my colleague, and if your neighbour snores and you're a light sleeper, you may have an uncomfortable night. It's a shame you can't walk around all of the gorgeous grounds. I only realised that on the last night; nobody mentioned it, though perhaps that was just luck. There's only one place to eat without a car, a very nice curry house, so solo travellers may have to skip a drink even though there are lovely country pubs within 10 miles.

I enjoyed my stay in this very nice mansion, which has a modernised interior. It works well for large families, though it's also possible to book a single room. There isn't really a lounge, just sofas by the entrance.

A lovely place and a great idea for getting all your friends together. The sheets were good and the room was pleasant, but Room 9 gets too hot and the bathroom extractor is ridiculously loud.
