Oakwood House

We’ve already booked again for next year. For our four couples, this was an excellent, well-equipped house and a good base for exploring the Peak District. The location loses a star because of a few design quirks that became noticeable once we were living there. One morning we ran out of hot water, which we assumed happened because too many people showered at once. That shouldn’t be a problem in a house meant for this many guests. One bathroom is also designed so that a guest found himself looking at his reflection while sitting on the toilet. The booklet of instructions for things like heating and blinds was well put together, although a few things didn’t work as expected. These were minor niggles overall.

Waking up and stepping into the back garden to look down the valley was glorious. The fields behind the house made everything feel peaceful and like a proper escape. Oakwood House was bright, spacious, and spotless, and the hosts had thought of so many useful details, from bedside chargers in every room to fresh linen and towels. The kitchen was fully stocked, so our stay was easy and comfortable. We couldn’t have asked for a better place and would highly recommend Oakwood House.

The location gave us a quiet break, with villages and walking trails still close by. The outdoor area felt private and peaceful, with plenty of space to sit and enjoy the surroundings. Inside, the living areas were comfortable for relaxing in the evenings, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook. Oakwood was spacious, clean, and well equipped, so it was easy to settle in and feel at home. We had a fantastic stay and would happily come again.

The valley views and the garden, with fields beyond it, made this such a lovely place to unwind. Inside, Oakwood House was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, with plenty of room. I had an incredible stay and would definitely book again. Highly recommend!
