The Ghillie

The countryside setting and gorgeous grounds made a lovely backdrop for our special occasion. Jilly and her family were so welcoming and friendly, and did everything they could to make it exactly what we wanted. They even helped book us a top restaurant. The accommodation feels luxurious but still like a home, and you can see how much work has gone into it. We found thoughtful touches everywhere, from home baking delivered to our door after we arrived to local homemade chocolates, fluffy quality robes and a superb breakfast. We had a perfect stay from arrival to departure. We can't wait to return.

We spent a week here and found plenty to do nearby. The owners made us feel like friends and gave us useful tips on local antiques and manor houses. Being able to wander the gardens, with their woodland paths and open areas, was a real bonus. The cottage is close to the main house, where they serve a delicious Scottish breakfast with healthier choices available too. The hosts also clearly put a lot of care into the interior design and fittings throughout.

We were in the area for a wedding in lilliesleaf and decided to treat ourselves. It was easily the best B&B we've stayed in. The hosts greeted us with fresh coffee and showed us around themselves. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we slept really well. Breakfast was outstanding, with yoghurt, muesli and fresh berries while they prepared the cooked dishes. You could tell each ingredient had been chosen with care. A hot croissant and freshly brewed Kenyan coffee finished it off. Thanks so much to our host. We'll be back and will tell our friends.

Jilly is such a welcoming, helpful and friendly host, and a joy to be around. Her breakfast is one you'll absolutely love. The place feels private, like a country stay with the comforts of home and just the right bit of indulgence. The location is ideal too.
