James Place at Dowlais

We stayed at James' Place for three nights, mainly to explore Bikepark Wales. The room was clean, nicely decorated and had the essentials for a short visit, plus milk, coffee, tea, local cake and dog biscuits. James and Angela were incredibly accommodating and shared useful suggestions for nearby attractions, places to eat and breweries. The evenings were quiet, and parking is outside or just behind the building. There are takeaway options close by and a welcoming hotel bar next door. Bikepark Wales is a ten-minute drive, while the town centre is only a few minutes away by car. We’ll certainly return.

The studio was clean, easy to get into and had everything needed to make breakfast. It’s in a quiet location, with a Premier Shop across the street, and there’s plenty of parking on the street or around the back of the pub. The Welsh cookies were delicious 😋. Excellent accommodation, everything as it should be. Thank you for your commitment and dedication to high standards and good value for the money.

Studio 5 was a lovely place to spend five days. We enjoyed every one of them and would happily recommend it.

The hosts made sure our dog was welcome and gave us loads of helpful information and support. The room was spotless, and the location was brilliant. Thanks for a lovely stay, we'd definitely recommend it 👌
