We came from Bolton, and the old candles on the table made it feel cosy. The mushroom and steak pie was the best. I came away with my partner for a relaxing break and would recommend this place if you want to unwind. The staff were really friendly, thank you. This is my first review, but I wanted to say something about how cosy it felt. I’ve been going through a lot and needed to feel refreshed and get my head back in a better place. Good food and a proper old pub, you can’t do much better! Thankyou xxxx

The rooms were very clean and comfortable, though a little small. We had a really nice stay, and the staff were lovely and extremely helpful. I’d definitely visit again.

The food was excellent and reasonably priced, and the friendly staff were happy to share local knowledge. It’s a lovely traditional pub, well placed for a stay in the lakes. The rooms are well maintained and very comfortable.

The dining room has a relaxed, pleasant feel, which made both evenings enjoyable. We ate here twice during our stay in Milnthorpe and found the food very good quality for the price. The staff were excellent, too. With three or four local guest ales to choose from, I was stuck, so one of the staff let me sample a couple and helped me decide. Very kind of her.

We dropped in on Sunday lunchtime for a quick bite and were pleasantly surprised. The service was lovely and the food freshly made. Would recommend, and I’m looking forward to coming back.
