Breakfast was superb, and Room 1 was lovely and clean, with a smart, modern bathroom. The drawer even had handy items in case you’d forgotten to pack something. Vickie was a perfect host. The place is right in the centre of Penrith, with easy access to the A66 for exploring, and parking just outside. A fantastic stop for the night.

The hosts were so friendly and helpful, and there’s care in all the little details in both the rooms and shared spaces. Clean, modern and nicely decorated, too. Just right for an overnight stay. Would recommend, 10/10.

Abbey House was spotless and comfortable, and the breakfast set us up well for the day. Vickie was welcoming and friendly, and had thought of all the things you might need away from home, even emergency toiletries. We’d definitely stay again.

I left feeling rested, which was exactly what I needed from a stop near the motorway. The room was clean and fresh, and there were thoughtful extras like homemade rocky road cake. I slept really well, and breakfast was cooked just right in the kitchen. It’s on the main road, but the traffic seemed to quiet down and I hardly noticed it. Vicki, the proprietor, was around throughout and greeted me without being intrusive. Recommended.

Best breakfast in town, and the beds were really comfortable. The staff were very friendly too. Highly recommend.
