The Olde House

We had a great two days in the green room, one floor up, with a lovely view of Dunster. The rooms are always clean, and George is an amazing owner who’ll do anything for his customers. Breakfast is included in the room price and there’s a great selection. We’ll be back next year. A couple of small things: the sockets were few and tucked down on the floor behind the furniture. In summer the room gets bright by 6am because the blind isn’t blackout. Also, the toilet sits under a sloping ceiling. It’s fine for women sitting down, but men have to half squat and aim carefully.

Dunster is lovely, and there’s a castle and working watermill just minutes from the B&B, with easy access to some stunning walks. The place itself is really welcoming, with kind staff, comfortable beds and pretty, quirky rooms with good-sized bathrooms. Breakfast was excellent and the stay was great value too.

The location, staff and whole experience were hard to fault. I spent two lovely nights here in a beautiful en-suite room, with two fantastic breakfasts. Highly recommended.

I booked The Old House at short notice for a two-night business trip and had a really enjoyable stay. The proprietors were friendly, sociable and helpful, and the room was clean, full of character and had a beautiful en-suite with a shower cubicle and deep roll-top bath. Breakfast was included each morning, and the food was great and nicely presented. I had to miss it on my last morning, but the owners still sent me off with a bacon butty and fresh orange juice. I hadn’t expected that, and really appreciated it. I had a great time here and will definitely stay again sometime. The owners provided a lovely service. Thanks to you all, highly recommended. A+++.
