The Black Bull Hotel

The chicken burgers were so dry they were like cardboard. They came with fries in a wee basket and some side salad, but no sauces or mayo on the table. We asked, and they brought a little out, though it didn't help moisten the burgers. We went into the bar for food, but the service was poor too. When we asked for the bill, the young waitresses said ok and then didn't come back. After 20 minutes, we went down and paid. I wouldn't recommend this place for food or service.

We had to wait over an hour for any food, and what we got wasn't worth waiting for. We paid and went elsewhere for pudding. We thought we'd found a good central spot for a regular Sunday family meet-up, but hadn't realised the only Sunday option was the carvery. Two of us are vegetarian, so that gave them very little, really no choice. Edited to add: you've got us confused with someone else. Nobody offered us any other vegetarian options, and staff ignored us for about an hour. We didn't complain. In fact, we added £10 to the bill as a tip for your staff.

We stayed for a weekend night and had a very clean, comfortable room. The food was fresh, full of flavour and really good. Even though it was busy, the staff were friendly and attentive. Great location, very dog friendly. Would recommend.

We stopped by your lovely pub for the Sunday carvery. The food was tasty, and your staff were very pleasant. Service was a bit hit and miss and quite slow, but we overlooked that because we enjoyed the meal. We highly recommend it.
