The Ashley

The location was excellent, but the stay had several problems. Room service from other staff was disappointing, and I was charged after posting a bad review on bookings.com, based on what I believe was an untrue late checkout claim. There were no fans, so with the window open, traffic noise kept me from sleeping. The bed was noisy too. When the keys broke and I couldn't open the door at night, nobody answered my calls or came to help. In the end another guest helped me get into the room.

I spent three weeks at The Ashley Hotel and would happily recommend it for a short or longer stay. Pauline is warm, kind and thoughtful, and the rooms are spacious, clean, nicely furnished and well looked after. Breakfast has a good range of choices and is a lovely start to the day. If you get a front room, there’s a marvellous view across the Bay.

Pauline was a cheerful, welcoming host, and we were comfortable from the moment we arrived at The Ashley. Our room was bright, clean and simply furnished, with two chairs, a very comfortable bed and good quality bedding. There was tea and coffee with little chocolate bars, a TV, and a detailed guide to Moracambe and The Ashley. The wardrobe had an iron, ironing board and hairdryer, and the small ensuite had a great shower, complimentary shower gels and quality towels. After a good night's sleep, we enjoyed the breakfast spread of cereal, fresh fruit, yogurts and three kinds of toast, along with Pauline's filling Lancashire breakfast. The table was set with lovely cutlery. When we returned from a walk, the room had been cleaned and fresh towels left. We loved our stay and would book The Ashley again if we come back to Morcambe.

Room No. 8 has a beautiful view of the sea and the mountains, and the rooms were clean and quiet. Breakfast was fresh and very good. Pauline is such a warm, caring woman who looked after us wonderfully. We’ll come back, and I’d definitely recommend this hotel.
