Aberdaron was lovely for a beach walk and sandcastles, though a wave came up to my hip and washed us out, so we headed back to the cottage to dry off. The amenities were great for that. There’s a little shop there that’s good but a bit pricey, plus a cafe where I had really nice pink lemonade, a church, a beach, and an ice cream shop. Abersoch is a great town for shops, ice cream, and an AMAZING chippy, and Hells Mouth beach is worth a visit too. The location is very rural, but there’s a shop, pub, and beach close by. It was an amazing holiday and a great way to explore this side of Wales. The cottage probably isn’t very toddler-friendly, though, with tricky stairs and windows that open a long way. There was a strange smell from a cupboard in the main bedroom, but it didn’t bother us. I’m about 5'5" and only just fit through the doors, so if you’re over 6'0", watch your head. The beds were really comfy, although a creaking noise in the bedroom woke us at 5 am a couple of times. We didn’t mind too much. There was a coin machine for heating or electricity by the entrance, but I wasn’t sure it worked, so we left it alone.
