We came for a friend's wedding and ended up loving the stay. It's a family-run place with genuinely lovely people, and the pies were unreal. I'm usually happy if there's something vegan on the menu, but there were loads of options for me, and they even baked a crumble for dessert. My wife was delighted too. We'd gladly come back for another weekend, and staying here would be a highlight. Thanks so much, you really warmed our hearts.

We had to leave early, so we missed breakfast, though the dining room looked inviting. The car park was tidy, well lit and handy, and the owner gave us a warm welcome. Our first-floor room had a quirky feel and was clean, with everything we needed. The bed was small but comfortable; the shower was small too, but clean and had excellent pressure. We arrived too late to eat at the Inn, but there were plenty of places to eat nearby.

The room was immaculate once we could get in, and the meal we had there was lovely. We chose from the many pies, with flaky pastry and plenty of filling, plus genuinely homemade chips that we polished off. There was a good choice of vegetables. The public areas felt homely, and the toilets were spotless and smelled lovely. Breakfast was good as well. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived because the previous guests left late and hadn't mentioned a leak. The owner unexpectedly gave us breakfast on the house while we waited, which we appreciated. Everyone was welcoming, especially Carol and her husband. We'd gladly stay again if we're in the area.

We stayed in attic room #8 for a Saturday night while visiting Newark, and the hosts were accommodating and lovely. The room and bathroom were spacious, clean and good quality, with thoughtful little touches. Breakfast was freshly made, plentiful and good value, with plenty to choose from and the option to mix things up. It's around five minutes on foot to the market square and just under 15 minutes to the river. The description of a town view was a bit generous: we could see Asda petrol station, the Odeon, shops and a street on one side, and the church steeple and rooftops on the other. That didn't bother us since we were out exploring. One thing to know, parking in the courtyard costs £5 if you haven't booked direct. The entrance is easy to miss, just a gap between buildings, and could be tight for a large car. The place has a friendly family feel, welcomes dogs, and we'll be back.

We arrived late, but someone was there to welcome us and hand over the keys. The room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection and local produce. Great location too.
