The Writer's Retreat

There’s a lovely seating area outside overlooking Loch Ewe, and we were lucky enough to see lots of wildlife, including harbour seals and otters. The hot tub was very nice, with towels, dressing gowns and slippers supplied. The bathroom was massive, with a walk-in shower, full-sized bath, sink and bidet, plus soap, shower gel and towels. The place is a bit quirky, with the well-equipped kitchen in a caravan. Our lounge and bedroom were very comfortable, and the huge patio window looked out over the bay. Its mirrored film gave privacy, though we didn't see anyone anyway. The bed was comfortable too, but if you're sleeping by the wall, you'll have to climb over the other person to get out. It was quiet, clean and had great views and facilities. There was reserved parking for one car in the carpark shared with Pool House Historic Home and coffee shop, which is well worth a visit.
