Best Western New Kent Hotel

My room was surprisingly spacious, with both a double and a single bed, and the shower had great pressure. The restaurant food was lovely and they were flexible with dietary needs, even though I hadn't booked and went down early. Breakfast was nice too, though I chose it expecting a buffet and it was actually cooked to order. The welcome at reception was friendly, and it's a lovely hotel. It's a shame I wouldn't stay again because both beds were rock hard. I tried the single in case it was softer, but it wasn't. If you like an extra-firm mattress, go for it, but it's definitely not for anyone who prefers soft or medium.

The breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice, and the cooked food was delicious and hot. The staff were very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. My room was clean and warm, with a lovely bed and the added bonus of a bath with plenty of hot water. I couldn't fault the hotel.

Room 14 seems to have had its earlier issues sorted. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom had been refurbished nicely, and there was plenty of hot water. The restaurant is lovely, with fantastic Indian curry, and breakfast was cooked to order and fantastic too. The server staff in both rooms were great, and the breakfast and evening meal rooms are nicely decorated. Local shops are an easy walk away. One small gripe: reception staff seemed a bit frosty, which might be worth working on since first impressions matter. The restaurant smells do travel into the hotel corridors.

The breakfast had a nice range of options and the service was brilliant. I’d stay again. We were greeted by a lovely receptionist, and check-in was easy. The room was clean and fine, with a double bed and a lovely ensuite. We booked for a concert in Newcastle. There’s a bus stop across from the hotel, and it’s a little over a mile to walk.
